Application Context
La Darbia in Chianti is an architectural project that harmoniously blends contemporary design with the historic character of a hillside village in Chianti. Nestled amongst centuries-old olive groves, Mediterranean woodlands and fields of lavender, the estate preserves the essence of the rural landscape whilst incorporating refined architectural interventions that respect the scale, proportions and natural contours of the land.
Client’s Requirements
The clients’ wish was to make the most of natural light and panoramic views, ensuring these were framed by the architecture to enhance the perception of space and depth. The aim was to create a fluid and continuous dialogue between the interior and exterior spaces, fostering a constant connection with the surrounding landscape and nature. The design emphasises a concept of understated luxury and discreet elegance, in which every element is carefully considered to contribute to the overall harmony of the spaces. Materials, finishes and construction details draw on the local context and reinterpret its identity in a contemporary key, whilst celebrating the authenticity of its traditions.
Ekinex Solutions
The Series 71 was selected for this project, available in both single- and double-plate versions, due to its ability to blend harmoniously with the textured surfaces that characterise the spaces. The choice of this range stems from a desire to enhance the dialogue between technology and design, creating a balanced blend with the materials and finishes present in the space. Its minimalist and understated style helps to maintain a clean, contemporary aesthetic, whilst the natural textures and shades lend a refined and authentic visual effect, capable of enhancing the character of the interiors without being intrusive.
